How to Use Puppet

Starting off
========================

First roll your stats. for a perfect or near perfect bowman/xbowman u need to roll:

str:**
dex:**
int:4/5
luk:4/5

**= anything

ok so you start off in maple island what to do next? lvl up to 10 by training at maple island.
i wud advise that u pump ur str to 25 asap (as soon as possible) as str increase ur damage a lot
at ur kinda lvl.

lvl 1-5... green snails mainly
lvl 6-10...try out some more blue snails. try and avoid red snails as they take for ever to kill at ur
lvl.

HINT!! if you run low on hp find a little platform and rest. dont waste red pots, save them up if its
ur first chraacter.

Victoria island
=========================
ok some u've reached lvl 10 (clap clap) now head to henesys and become a bowman. dont get
too excited about being a bowman. u will be using ur sword/axe/club until around lvl 15 as ur bow
attack is very weak.

Raising ur stats (only crossbowman)
=========================

lvl 10 : 25 str 40 dex (presuming u start with 5 luk and 5 int)
lvl 15 : 25 str 65 dex
lvl 20 : 25 str 90 dex
lvl 25 : 25 str 115 dex
lvl 30 : 30 str 140 dex
etc... forever =)

as you can see, being a crossbowman, u only need str equal to ur lvl which gives us an extra
5dex boost on hunter =)

* you can choose to pick double shot or arrow blow. i wud choose double shot because it gives a
higher sucess rate on critical shot which is vital. people sometimes choose arrow blow because
they like knockback which seems nice when fiting stone golems but knockback is useless wen
you to a certain point that you can 2 hit kill enimies such as stone golems.
** doesnt matter which u choose. the blessing of the amazon gives +1 accuracy per lvl and is
passive but focus gives +1 accuracy AND +1 avoidability but requires mana to cast and lasts for
about 1min sou have to keep recasting. you choose =)

Training in 1st job
===========================

lvl 10-15 slimes, snails anything that doesnt require too much time killing
lvl 15-20 snipe from the hay in henesys hunting ground 1/2/3 with ur bow and kill those orange
mush or if u prefer 1-2hit slimes.
lvl 20-25 no not time for pq. go to pig beach but u will need to bring lots of hp pots cuz swarm at
u like hell =O or u can continue with orange mushs
lvl 25-30 ok nows it pq time. try and get urself into a nice party. (yourself, 2 mages and a sin) if u
dont like the w8 then go to horny mush or green mush.

2nd job
==========================

So you've chosen a path of raw power. gd choice =)
once you reach lvl 30 head back to henesy and go to Helena and she'll ask to you take the letter
to Job instructor who is located in.....somewhere. =S just follow my directions =) in henesys, go
top righthand portal and go onto next map, from there head right until u meet another portal,
enter it. then head top RIGHT and on ur map u shud see a green splodge talk to her and enter.
make sure u bring lots of pots.
once ur instead u have to collect 30 black marbles. just kill the monsters on each platform and if
they get too crowded just channel and kill them until u get 30 marbles. once u have collected
them talk to the job instructor and she'll give u a nice shiny medal =) now go back to Helena and
she'll premote you to a real crossbowman =)
you'll get more hp, more mp and 1 extra sp and u'll get more etc slots and more item slots. =)

Pros and Cons of Crossbowman
============================

Pros:

uncommon class to be
powerful (at lvl 38 i was able to outdamage any class my lvl and about 5 lvls higher than me)
cheap equips, scrolls, armour, weapons
pwns in 3rd job.
lots of ppl will go "wow nice damage and ur only lvl 38" or some ppl will give u free fame cuz ur
special XD

Cons:

not very strong during 1st job and only gets gd once "max" mastery
take a lot of time to lvl from lvl 10-38
dont expect to gain a lot of money if ur unfunded. u'll start to get a decent income from lvl 50
onwards

Final Attack, pros and cons
===========================

Pros:
gives extra damage for free :D
helps train faster. A LOT
gives knockback (basically arrow blow but manaless)
can kill a monster behind another monster

Cons:
at low lvls it can be annoying as it's % of activation is low
can be activated wen theres no monster to kill or hurt
against balrog, FA can activate and then balrog can claw ur ass (thats y u learn jump attack)

OWN OPINION: well i find that FA helps me train a lot faster and it saves me a lot of pot money.
for example, wot needed 2 double shots (32mp) becomes 1 double shot (16mp) + FA. and with
FA's 60% chance of activation u cud say u almost kno wen its gonna fire out. i may admit that FA
cud get u hurt sometimes but i'd rather get hurt than waste pots like a Fa-less person. ppl say
that FA doesnt work with strafe, ur still gonna be using double shot till lvl 70. so from lvl 49-70 FA
will help u soooo much its unbeliveable. but hey, its ur character, do wot u want, as long as ur an
crossbowman, im happy :D

Training in 2nd job
===========================

lvl 30-35 do ur last pqs until u reach lvl 31 from there u can train on zombie mush, horny mush
or wild boar
lvl 35-38 wild boar all the way
lvl 38-42 fire boars shud be a sure 1hit ko 80% of the time*
lvl 42-50 stone golems, lunar pixes or star pixes. they're all gd**
lvl 50-55 stone golems,luster pixes***
lvl 55-60 dark stone golems,luster pixes, zombies
lvl 60-65 zombies,fire drakes, luster pixies
lvl 65-70 zombies, luster pixies

*buy a heckler and scroll it with 60% or 100% its up to you.
** for more power, scroll a silver crow with 60% or 100%
***weaker than stone golem and u can sell the pixes suns on sw.net and get a lot of cash cuz
mages like to buy and hope they exchange for a 60% cape int scroll. the last map with lusters are
gr8 for fa-less xbowman as at lvl 50 u will have max iron arrow and at the bottom of that map it is
gr8 for iron arrowing them.

What to and what not to scroll
===============================

WEAPONS

IF, and only if ur r rich, scroll ur mountenous crossbow or eagle crow with 7 100% scrolls. i wud
buy a almost perfect heckler and scroll it with 60%. if only 0-3 work, unlucky (on my heckler i only
got 2 to work :( ) if that happens w8 till lvl 42 and scroll ur silver crow and hope u get better
results. but if the outcome of the heckler is gd like 4-7 scrolls skip the silver crow as it is a waste
of money. my friend used red viper +7100% till lvl 60 until he got his asianic bow. from heckler
onwards u shud always scroll with 60% not 100%. if u feel lucky, try and use a 10%.

ARMOUR

i wud only start scrolling armor wen ur lvl 30 and that is, scrolling ur sauna robe. i seriously
consider u to buy or do the jack/sauna quest. sauna robes cost about 80-100k in bera. i wud buy
10 10% dex overal scrolls and use them and hope that 2 or more work. this is a little thing u can
do. if ur first scroll works on the first slot u can sell it for 1.5mill to 2mill. profit?? i think so :D If
that happens get another sauna robe and scroll it with the 10%s u bought. once ur satisfied with
a 10+ dex robe use it until lvl 50 if ur willing to look at the some clothing for 20 lvls. believe me
tho, the extra damage comes in handy. if u got money to blow scroll ur other equips as u
progress on. at lvl 50, 60 and so on scroll the robes with 10%s unless u got lucky and scrolled a
beast sauna robe. (im talking like 25dex O_O)

some ppl like to scroll there snow shoes (cuz they allow 7 slots and not the normal 5 slots) with
10% jump scrolls. the reason y ppl do this is becuz it adds 3 dex. but i must warn u that even
10% jump scrolls cost a gd 400-500k in bera and i wud only consider this if ur uber rich.

u shud scroll ur cape/s with 100% dex scrolls. very cheap scrolls 50k a
piece. its a nice cheap affordable way to boost ur damage a lvl :D

glove scrolling.....if ur rich dont bother with dex glove scrolls, get attack work gloves. for some ppl
that dont kno, every 1attack is the same as 3 dex. so even if u get a +12dex work glove, its still
the same as a 4 attack work glove which is a lot easier to buy/find/scroll.

3rd job *duh duh duh*
============================

congratz you've passed the gruelling hell of lvl 30-70 bowman training but guess wot heres wen
bowman really get to shine. forget training and focus on ur new and improved STRAFE ^_^
demonstrated by Zadam, xbowman are the strongest class but closely folowed by crusader.

ok so ur lvl 70 *thumbs up* use the following steps to adv to the 3rd job ^^

1.head to Rene in El nath. (s/he is in the building at the top right of el nath)
2.after talking to rene head to orbis and get the ride to victoria island.
3.once u arrive, get ur ass to Athena Pierce and she'll tell u to go to the other dimension.
4.after talking to her, go to Sleepywood and go down to the last dark stone golem map and there
u shall find the other dimenion portal.
5.move urself along the long room and jump down to fite ur boss. (the boss does about 600
bump damage and 1k with the arrow. dont worry the fite is easy. u shud be strong enough to
knock her back. only 1.5k i think to knock back. IF she someones tauromacis dont cry. take the
tauromacis down before continuing the fite with the boss otherwise u'll find urself in a pickle with
2-4 tauromacis to kill aswell as the boss.)
6.rite, so u've killed the boss and picked up the charm. go to the top rite npc and the rock will
take u back to henesys. talk to Athena Pierce again and she'll tell u to go back to the job
instructor, Rene, in nath.
7.so move ur legs and get to nath.
8.talk to Rene and she'll tell u to prove urself once more. NB: u need refined DARK crystal (not
black crystal)
9.after talking to Rene, head to Sharp CLiff 2. wen ur on that map. go top rite and u'll find a
wooden door. go in.
10.at the bottom u will find a big stone npc. talk to it. it will tell u to answer 5 questions. if u get
one wrong u must start again which results in a loss of a dark crystal. OUCH. some questions r
very easy but some are fking hard. if u struggle and you do not wish to waste a dark crystal
search the web for some infomation or better yet the actual answers =)
11.after answering the questions use a town return scroll and talk to Rene once again.
12.3RD JOB WOOT XD

from here onwards everything else is up to ur own preference. some ppl like to build on arrow
eruption as it's potential damage is stronger than iron arrow. some people like to build on golden
eagle (up to lvl 16 = 90% stun ) or blizzard. either path is gd its just which order u decide to put
them in.

*if u followed my skill build then u can go to death teddies without too many hp pots.

How to use Puppet
====================

ok this like a pretty stupid sub-heading but u'll be surprised how many ppl reach 3rd job and not

knowing how puppet works.

ok first some useful information:
1. doesnt work with parties
2. doesnt work very well when other people r on the same map as you
3. you MUST hit the enemy then use puppet before the enemy gets attracted to ur puppet.

ok, lets take a lucida for example. they have a non-avoidable magical attack.
1. attack using strafe
2. use puppet (enemy becomes "puppetized")
3. kill using puppet
4. lucida is dead ^^

once you have puppetized an enemy or a group of enemies (there is no maximum to the number
of enemies u can puppetize, so u can puppetize 30 enemies if u wanted to)

if u you puppetize an enemy and then u use puppet again, the monsters that were puppetized
will become in an neutral state (so they wont be chasing u or ur puppet anymore)

a lot of people use puppet as a luring technique. for example, they group all of the bottom spawn
at vikings by hitting all of them. then by setting up a puppet on a platform the viking's attention
will turn to the puppet. the puppet cannot be hurt by the vikings so you are free to jump down
and kill the spawn. BUT note that if the puppet reaches the time limit the vikings will return to the
neutral state and if u hit them again u maybe forced to do some running and shooting ^^
